Russell Robertson

Russell Robertson has been the face of the Melbourne Football Club over a playing career spanning 13 years. Since his retirement he has continued on at the club in a marketing role dealing closely with club sponsors and it affluent supporter groups. He also works with Yahoo7 as an onscreen host but it has been in music that Robbo has Kicked real goals.

‘Robbo’ was in 2007 invited to perform on Channel 7s ‘It Takes Two’ teaming up with Kate Ceberano to finish runner up in the series. Kate and her brother Phil took him under their wing and he has been gigging with them and a great many others ever since.

Robbo performs as a rhythm guitarist and lead singer with Phil and a bevy of amazing musicians in Melbourne including Electric Mary’s Brett Wood as an acoustic duo perfect for a laid back vibe covering music from way back then to now, specializing in good old fashion rock music.

Robbo also has a band ranging from a 4 to 6 piece, depending on the demand and has played gigs such as the StKilda Football Club Best and Fairest, Fashion Aid, The Cabal Club Fund Raiser, The Monash Food and Wine festival, Weddings, Parties and everything in between.

Combined with his event hosting ability Russell can make an event hum with a one stop shop for entertainment.

Robbo has also performed in theatre such as Barassi the stage show at the Athanaeum and the Arts Centre.
